Living rooms are an important part of each and every home; it doesn’t matter whether a house is modern or ancient, you will certainly find a living room in that home. It is also known as hall, sitting room, main room, drawing room. Living room plays a significant role in vastu shastra it is also the place where most of your “sweet memories” are made. It is an interface where you socialize with outside people, such as guests, friends and distant relatives. It’s also a place where you share private time with your family doing activities, such as, watching TV, family discussions and anything and everything that you and your family love to do together.

At our residence the maximum time has to be spent only in our "bed room" the next high time spent at "living room". We should take care of this living room in our home. We should not neglect on this living room. The vastu for Living Room has a set of basic rules which when followed can let you and your family have a problem free-living in the Living Room. Always better to place the sitting or living room only at Northeast corner of the house, sometimes when the house is west facing or South facing then the living room construction at Northeast corner may not be possible, in those cases follow some tricks to get good results.

The owner of the house has to sit at Southwest part of this living room and has to face towards East or North directions only. The other family members has to sit facing towards East or West, the outsiders has to sit in front of the owner, their faces may be towards West or South. This is the ideal place of sitting in living room. No need to worry regarding South or West facing homes, there is also a great opportunity to have living room towards Northeast, if you wish then it became true, if you are not taken care of your property nobody can take care of it. If you have more interest then automatically everybody can gathered and amend many things there, finally it became luck to your family.

At East face house or North face house, there is one good quality point in this living room as the members of the house or owner of the house has to sit at living room (here the living room should placed at Northeast / Eshan / Ishan corner of the house only), then the good vibrations from Eshan (Northeast) corner has spread and will get the same vibrations from East side and (matter came from North sides, these vibrations are more effective to the family members of the house. Many inhabitants are doing a great mistake that they them self doing the corrections by reading some vastu books or vastu websites and start doing corrections to their property, this is not at all recommended, its best to approach only one expert vastu specialist to get right suggestions.

The owner of the house has to sit towards Nairuthi (Southwest-west) facing towards East, if fails the next best option is Southwest-south facing towards North, you may put this lengthy sofa towards West side, and transfer the sofa chairs towards South side, the owner has to occupy at the Nairuthi (southwest) corner placement always. The guests occupy the remaining chairs. You can put telephone at South or at West side walls so that you can easily handle the phone. Best Directions to Sleep

Vasthu Sastra highlights sleep as an important aspect of good health. In order to enjoy sound sleep, one must have a bedroom with a peaceful environment. Sleeping in the wrong direction can also cause health problems. Vasthu sastra recommends that the head must be placed towards the east for undisturbed sleep. The second best sleeping direction is with the head towards the west, the third choice is south. People who observe these directions will receive positive energy when they wake up. These positions will also enhance the person's blood circulation.

We all need sound, comfortable and timely sleep, apart from food, water and shelter in our daily life. On an average, a human spends one-third of his life sleeping.   A sleep deprived person becomes unhealthy in short period of time; his brain looses understanding and analyzing power quickly. With his analyzing power going downhill, the person takes wrong decisions.

A very good, sound and timely sleep provides us energy which enables us to manage our day to day work easily and proficiently.

The most pleasing area that every human uses for sleeping is the bedroom. Hence its utmost important that bedroom in a home is as per vastu shastra.

As per vastu, you are free to sleep with your head in any direction Except North. However, sleeping with head in different directions has different affects on sleep quality of people.

Head in North:  Never sleep with the head towards the north because the magnetic field of the earth lies in a north-south direction energy levels can be thrown out of balance by this strong field. Only a dead-body’s head is kept towards North direction. If one sleeps in this position then he/she faces major sickness, difficulties in having children, nightmare, and disturbed sleep. Our head is considered north and if we place our head towards north, the magnetic repulsion between similar poles occurs. This position can also result in the dweller experiencing physically low or high blood pressure, insomnia or a high level of cholesterol.

Head in South: As per sleeping direction vastu, this is the Best Direction to keep head. Sleeping with head towards South direction increases wealth, happiness and prosperity. Also the quality of sleep is best when sleeping in this position.

Head in East: Sleeping with head in East direction increases memory, concentration, good health and inclination towards spirituality. Students, as per vastu shastra, must sleep with their head in East direction in order to increase memory, retention power of brain and concentration.

Head in West: As per vastu, sleeping in west is also favorable direction. Sleeping with head in West gives name, fame, reputation and prosperity.

Main Door Vastu

The main door is the passage which creates life in a home. One should pay great attention to the main as per the vastu shastra. Entrance of a house explains every thing because this is the gateway from which energies constantly goes in and out. This positive energy from the main door is correlated to the entire portion of the home. This important door should be maintained with utmost care. Main door should be beautiful, clean and obstruction free from both outside and inside. Use of Toran on main doors is very auspicious. Create attraction for wealth to enter in your home. Here are some Vaastu guidelines to be considered while designing the main entrance door.

Number of Entrances: Many houses may have more than one entrance on the frontage. If there is only one main entrance door to the house then more wealth is expected over other factors. If there are two doors in the entrance then a comfortable life for the inmates can be expected. If there ar three doors than it is harmful to the residents. If more than three doors are provided as main entrance than it causes many problems.

Placement of Main Entrance Doors 

One Door: If only one entrance s provided to the house it should be placed in east or north for the best results. Doors in the west and south are not good/allowed, but these directions can be used for an entrance in commercial establishments. 

Two Doors : If a house has two doors than they can be in the following combinations:

East in combination with north and west, West with north and East is allowed, South and West Doors are not allowed, South and East Doors are not allowed.

Three Doors :Three doors excluding the east is inauspicious, Three doors excluding south is auspicious, Three Doors excluding north is inauspicious, Three doors excluding west is auspicious.

Four Doors : If the house is aligned to the magnetic orientation than keeping the door in all the 4 directions is very auspicious.

Designing the Doors

Lakshami seated on lotus with elephants is good to be used on doors, Traditional guard images can be carved, The gods of wealth emitting coins can be used for decoration, Kul Devta, the family deity can adorn the door, Birds like parrots, peacocks, swans images are good to be used on doors, Nature paintings etc. and Pictures or Sculptures of war scans etc. are not allowed.

One should keep in mind that any god images etc. should not be used on the outer side of the door as it may lead to poverty and other problems.

Door position according to the directions

North:The door should be in the left half when facing the house. Avoid placing the door in the right half (North-West). Placing the door in this direction will allow ample amount of sunlight throughout the day. The door should be placed in the center of the wall and the windows should be kept in the North-East. Avoid placing the door near the corner of the walls.

West:The door can be placed in the left half, facing the house. Avoid positioning the door in the right half of the house as more windows are supposed to be positioned here for a constant sunlight throughout the day. Avoid the opening in the south west direction. If you have a door in the west ensure that you have a parallel door in the east which can allow maximum useful UV rays.

South:A door positioned in the south shouldn't be placed in the center of the building and should be placed in the right half of the home. Avoid placing the main door in the south-west direction as this might harm you with the hot infrared rays.

East:The door can be placed in the right half facing towards the north east direction. Avoid positioning the door in the south east direction. The door should be placed in the center of the wall and the windows should be placed in the north-east direction.

Following things should be remember while placing main door: 

Main entrance door should be the largest door in your home; it should be opened inside and should be clockwise. Main door should not have self-closing doors; the main door should have a threshold, two shuttered main door opening inside and clockwise is auspicious. Use very good quality wood for main entrance; make sure that main door is noise free while opening or closing. 

Always keep entrance door well lit with bright lights, make sure to have a beautiful name plate on entrance of a home; this attracts prosperity, wealth and happiness, there should be a threshold at main door; it makes sure that you avoid loss of wealth, always have some beautiful design and paint on main door, avoid keeping main door dull and drab, make the main door a bit higher than ground level and keep number of steps odd, main door must be above ground level and not below in any case, best option is to have two main doors in a home, one for entry and another for exit having two and one shutters respectively, Make exit door smaller than entrance one, locate entrance at least a feet away from any corner, immediately replace cracked or aged doors to avoid tough time and loss of respect and make sure that total number of door and windows in a house are even (e.g. 2, 4, 6, 8 etc.) and not end with 0 (such as, 10, 20, 30 etc.

North East Vastu Defects and Remedies

North East is the direction of God hence is considered auspicious, and is a source of constructive energy. This positive energy not only creates healthy vibrations but also ensures the prosperity of the people living that house.

Northeast direction in vastu is highly surcharged with divine energies, and supposed to the place of Lord Shiva. Thus heavy construction or having defected construction in the Northeast direction is prohibited or otherwise it creates the vastu dosh.

Vastu Remedies for South West Defects Toilet: Place a Vastu Pyramid on the outside toilet wall in the South West corner and keep toilet door closed always.

Kitchen : Place the gas stove in the South East part of the kitchen room keep a stool and cook something daily, such as, boil rice, make tea etc. this will create an auxiliary kitchen at correct location. Paint kitchen with yellow color. Make sure to use minimum water within kitchen and try to wash utensils etc. outside kitchen. If you can, raise the level of kitchen flooring make sure that kitchen is at a higher elevation than neighboring rooms.

Cut in South West: Install vastu pyramids in all directions i.e. North, East, South and West of home.

Large opening/windows in West or South :Try to keep the windows closed at all times. Use dark colored curtain for such windows.

Entrance or Main Door in South West: Place a Swastik, Trishul and Om on both sides and top of main door of home from outside. Install a Siddha Rahu Yantra near the main door. Place vastu pyramids one each on left and right side and one on top of entrance door. Place a Panch Mukhi Hanuman Ji in standing position with gada in left hand (as if ready for a war) on the top of the main door.

Underground water tank or bore well in South West : Paint red color on top of the water tank. Remember this is just a temporary fix and you must shift underground water tank or bore well to correct vastu location. Install a Rahu Yantra. Place a Panch Mukhi Hanuman Ji in standing position with gada in left hand (as if ready for a war) facing that bore well or underground water tank.

Living or Drawing Room in South West : As mentioned earlier, having a living room in South West is not considered a vastu dosh but this is not recommended for people who are less social and want their guests to return quickly.

You can also Putting “Rahu, Ketu Yantra” in Southwest will minimize the bad effects of this direction (this can be done under guidance of expert Pandit).

 

North West Vastu Defects and Remedies

Every one as a human being is expectant of having  nice Vastu which not bears any Vastu dosh or defect, Happy health, polite children, prosperity and resources of good income through business or profession and elevated status in society with over all mental and marvelous peace. This be able to be happened if your living Home is constructed according to Vastu Shastra principles.

Northwest is the direction creativity, prosperity, luck and social circle and the ruler of this direction is Moon. Hence any vastu defect or dosh in North West direction leads to tension and clashes with neighbors, legal matters, court cases even imprisonment in some cases.

Furthermore, if someone lives in a home that has vastu dosh in North West direction then he/she is certain to have more enemies than friends and that will keep him/her busy in some or other sort of trouble.

Exam : An upcoming crisis in the attainment of a cherished goal. If the dreamer fails the exam, or if he awakens before knowing whether he passed or failed, the goal may be unfeasible at this time and should be re-examined. If the dreamer passes the exam, then, in spite of obstacles, he has it in him to get what he wants.

Ex-lover : 1. The ex-lover is thinking about the dreamer intensely, and projecting telepathic messages towards her which she receives in her dreams, 2. In completions with this person that need to be resolved within the dreamer before he is truly free to move on to a new relationship, 3. Similarities between this past relationship and situations now in the dreamer's life. Solutions to current difficulties may be resolved by the dreamer's remembering how he dealt with the ex-lover.

Eyes : 1.   Being watched by strange, disembodied eyes indicates unexpected good fortune to come. Falling : Human beings have two ancient primal fears: fear of falling, and fear of loud noises. Dreaming of falling often implies the fear of losing control and resulting disaster. If the dreamer falls a great distance, then he should start finding solutions right away, for there is danger of severe complications. If the dreamer falls a short distance and is unhurt, the damage will be minimal and can easily be set right.

Farm : A busy, fruitful, and prosperous farm is a sign of abundance ahead, while a derelict, barren, and decrepit farm implies the need to work hard to avoid a rocky financial road ahead. Seeing lots of farm animals enjoying life reflects a coming period where you'll be meeting a lot of new people who'll be of great assistance to you.

Father : This symbol is highly personalized, and should be considered in light of your relationship with your father. Fly : 1. Dreaming of flying high in the air and looking down on your usual surroundings is a very common dream, and most often implies a widening and broadening of your vision. Dreaming of ripe, appealing fruit in your dream is a very positive omen, and can symbolize several things: success and prosperity (the fruits of your labor); a pregnancy (fruit of the womb) or a heightened period of creativity (the fruits of your imagination.), 2. If the fruit is sour, rotten, or spoiled, however, it is a sign that something you're striving for is going to turn bad - and it's best if you stop work on it right now, figure out what's wrong with it, and move on only once the problem is resolved.

Fog : An obstacle dream, dependent on other circumstances in the dream for exact interpretation. A fog at sea indicates blockages in emotional situations, such as romance. A fog on land indicates setbacks with regard to business or financial progress. If the fog clears away during the dream, then the blockages will let up and therefore there's no need to lose heart. Forest : As with all dreams of Earth's bounty, a forest basically is a happy omen if the dream shows the sun shining through the trees and a clear path ahead. Even a forest fire indicates positive progress. But if the dreamer felt alone and frightened, this means that his or her own feelings could get in the way of prosperity and success.
